Understanding CBD

The CBD

CBD Non-psychotropic, non-addictive, cannabidiol (CBD) is a naturally occurring cannabis compound present in hemp. It is part of the cannabinoid family, among the 100 varieties identified. Studies have shown that CBD has many promising medicinal properties.

Origin

Hemp, one of the eldest plants cultivated by human beings. Its culture dates back to thousands of years, used both for the manufacture of fabrics and for its therapeutic effects. China is at the origin of its domestication. The use of this plant has continued over the centuries, before researchers looked on its composition at the beginning of the 20th century, with the discovery of two active ingredients: THC and CBD. It was in 1940 when the CBD molecule was extracted and isolated from the plant of the hemp for the first time.

Definition

Abbreviation of cannabidiol, CBD is a molecule extracted from hemp, also called cannabis. But unlike the second molecule present in the plant called Delta-9 TetraHydroCannabinol or THC, CBD has no psychotropic effect and therefore does not cause physical dependence. "THC with euphoric effects, and CBD with relief properties."

CBD binds to many neurotransmitters, for example serotonin. This neurotransmitter is responsible for transmission between two neurons.

Why consuming it?

CBD products interact with the endocannabinoid system and target CBl and CB2 receptors in the central nervous system. These receptors are linked to stress mechanisms, anxiety, but also to inflammatory mechanisms, to the immune system among others. By activating these receptors. CBD blocks the intensity of nervous messages related to stressful or painful situations.
